Connecticut - Stop Shorting Providers and the Needy!

The nonprofit social service association that rely on the state budget were outraged that they did not recieve a cost-of-living increase.  They got a 3% increase last year.  "We are thoroughly disappointed and perplexed by the governor's continued lack of understanding of the issues facing community providers and the clients we serve," said Terry Edelstein, president of the Connecticut Community Providers Association (CCPA).  "This proposed budget sends a very clear signal from the administration - 'We don't care.'" (quote was in the Hartford Courant's lead article about the Governor's Budget, Feb. 7, 2008)
