Are you struggling with aligning common core standards to the academic curriculum for your students with significant learning needs? Are you searching for assessments to demonstrate student growth? Come discover the Unique Learning System’s comprehensive curriculum. ULS is aligned to the common core standards through the provision of chronologically grade appropriate differentiated lessons, materials, and assessments. Learn how the Unique Learning System’s monthly materials provide access to general education academic content and functional skills through units designed specifically for learners with significant disabilities while collecting valuable data with the use of common and formative assessments. GPS, the data collection tool within ULS provides for collaboration and consistency for all students, allowing educators to make clear, data driven decisions. Explore providing greater access to the curriculum with various low to high tech assistive technology tools. In addition we will review News2You, a special education online newspaper providing engaging topics across four differentiated levels delivered to your classroom each week. Lastly, we will take a look at SymbolStix. The online graphic library consisting of over 13,000 symbols allowing you to further engage all students.
Session 1: The morning session will focus on Preschool, Elementary (K-2) and Intermediate (Grades 3-5) grade bands, News-2-You and SymbolStix.
Session 2: While the afternoon session will focus on Middle School Grades (Grades 6-8) High School and the Transition Band, therefore allowing us more time to explore the depth of all of the transition materials as well as the standards based curriculum.
